The last few years too much emphasis in youth sports has shifted to “competing” more. We need to shift our youth sports model back to less competing and greater focus on skill development if we want to help our kids reach their maximum potential. Athletes need to rep a skill hundreds of times before they will be able to execute those skills in any type of game situation. And, if we want to accelerate skill development, we also need small groups of athletes, so we can maximize focus, intensity, and repetition – things I have used to build Rollins Women’s Lacrosse into one of the premier programs in the nation – and I want to use the same methodology to help you!
